Temple Will Not Play In New Orleans Bowl, Shut Out Of Bowl Games Altogether

Stay connected for news and updates

Despite being bowl-eligible, the Temple Owls were shut out… just a year after playing in their first bowl game in 30 years. The Owls were one of just two bowl eligible teams not selected for a bowl game.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Temple was in the running for the New Orleans Bowl but lost out to the Ohio Bobcats who beat Temple head to head earlier this year. The only other bowl eligible team not selected for a bowl was Western Michigan.

National Football Post writer Wes Bunting says Temple was screwed.

How at 8-4 doesn't get a bid...they spanked earlier who is going to a BCS Bowl, system is a joke...

If you are a fan of college football in the Delaware Valley, both Villanova and Delaware are still alive the FCS playoffs.
