Phils, Eagles, Sixers, Flyers... are you 4 for 4?
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan, son of former Eagles coach Buddy Ryan, wants his current team to be thought of just like a great team of Philadelphia's past. It's not his dad's Eagles teams.
"Look at the Philadelphia Flyers during their Broad Street Bully days. Every team in the NHL couldn't wait to play them. What happened? The Flyers kicked their butts anyway and hoisted the (Stanley) Cup.
"That's the way I look at it. I want to be that team that you hate ... you can't stand the Jets."
Now if only Darrelle Revis could stand the Jets enough to show up and play for them...
To paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen from arguably the greatest political smackdown of all time... "I served with Fred Shero, I knew Fred Shero, Fred Shero was a friend of mine. Rex Ryan, you're no Fred Shero"
