According to Todd Zolecki’s blog, Gillies opposes the charges, but cannot comment because it’s an open case. Free on $2,000 bond, the young Reading outfielder had a complete bomb of a first year with the Phillies organization.
Once the off-the-field issues get resolved, Gillies can go to instructionals and work on finding his timing after an injury-riddled 2010. He’s still young and talented enough to bounce back from this.
