Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer just took to Twitter to dispel the earlier rumor that the Browns had called the Eagles asking about the trade availability of backup quarterback Kevin Kolb:
A report that the #Browns called the #Eagles last night about Kevin Kolb is untrue, a league source told the P.D.
We’ll see if Kolb garners interest from other teams as the October 19th trade deadline draws nearer.

Not long after Eagles coach Andy Reid said Michael Vick will start at quarterback for them this season, Cleveland Browns GM Tom Heckert called Philadelphia to ask about trading for Kevin Kolb, Vick's backup, reports Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk. The Browns were told that Kolb isn't available, but this situation is fluid, as Florio explains:
Coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that that he can't predict whether Kolb will be on the roster past the trade deadline. And that means that maybe Kolb will be traded between now and October 19.
Kolb lost the starting quarterback job to Michael Vick in the first week of the season, suffering a concussion in the team's 27-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers. With Kolb sidelined, Vick played well enough in the interim to convince Reid that he's the better choice to lead the team for the rest of the year.
