The Philadelphia Flyers will hope to do a little bit better in their second game without defenseman Chris Pronger than they did during their first. After he went down with a high stick to the eye in a win Monday, Philadelphia allowed five goals, tied for a season high, in a 5-1 loss Wednesday to the Canadiens that was the team's most lopsided loss of the season. After a hot start, the Flyers have now lost three of their past four games.
Tonight, the Flyers (5-3-1) host a Winnipeg Jets team that has also lost three of its past four contests. The Jets (2-5-1) return to action after suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat to the New York Rangers on Monday. The squad will hope to benefit from Pronger's absence after scoring just 17 goals during their first eight games, a statistic that ranks them 24th in the NHL.
