Flyers Vs. Jets Final Score: 17 Goals Later, Winnipeg Outlasts Philadelphia 9-8

Thursday night’s hockey game between the Philadelphia Flyers (5-4-1) and Winnipeg Jets (3-5-1), which took place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has come to a close.

17 goals later, the Jets outlasted the Flyers by a score of 9-8.

No, that isn’t a typo. And aside from the fact that 15 different players found the net, a whopping five goals were scored just over four minutes into the third period.

The Jets spread their wealth evenly throughout the game, putting up three goals in as many periods. The Flyers started a bit slower before turning it on late, scoring one in the opening frame, three in the second stanza and four more in the final period.

Not a good night to be a goalie.

Only three of the 17 goals came on the power play, despite ten chances from each team. Philadelphia had nearly twice as many shots on goal with 48, compared to Winnipeg’s 25.

The bottom line? Fans who packed the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night certainly got their money’s worth.
