Philadelphia Marathon 2011: Schedule, Course Information, Past Results And More

The Philadelphia Marathon begins at 7 a.m. ET on Sunday, November 20th. The race will begin at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and will attract nearly 25,000 participants.

The 2011 Philadelphia Marathon is scheduled to kick off Sunday, November 20th at 7 a.m. ET. The annual race will begin at 22nd Street & Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, PA.

The Philadelphia Marathon was first run in 1954 and serves as a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon, one of the world's five major marathons. Produced and hosted by the city of Philadelphia, the events of the marathon weekend are expected to draw 25,000 participants.

Registration: Official race registrations for the full and half marathons are sold out. As of Monday, October 31st, there are still tickets available for the Rothman Institute 8K. 

Maps: There are three sets of maps you can download. The certified course map (PDF), the regular course map (PDF), and an elevation chart (PDF).

Rules: Besides "run" of course, the marathon's official organizers name few rules. The official site uses one sentence to describe the rules: "Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, baby joggers, strollers, roller skates and roller blades are not permitted on the course, which will remain open for seven hours from when the last runner has crossed the start line."

  • 1st Philadelphian: $1,000 one male & one female
