The Drexel Dragons are favorites to win the CAA men's basketball championship in 2011-12, according to a vote of the league's coaches, media relation directors and media members.
Drexel, which returns six of its seven top scorers from a season ago, had three players selected to preseason all-conference teams. Senior Samme Givens was selected to the First Team All-CAA, Chris Fouch was selected to the Second Team, and Dartaye Ruffin was named honorable mention.
Givens was the only CAA player to average a double-double last season, when he raked in 12.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Fouch led Drexel in scoring at 14.0 points per game. Ruffin averaged 8.4 points and 7.4 rebounds, despite not starting a single game.
