Villanova Vs. American First Half Score: Wildcats Lead 38-29

The Villanova Wildcats lead the American University Eagles 38-29 after one half of play at The Pavilion.

Villanova struggled to put some distance in between themselves and American early in the game. However, after the first ten minutes, the Wildcats began to get a little breathing room. The three-pointer was good to the Wildcats in the first half as Villanova shot 6-15 from behind the arc.

The score was 22-20 in favor of Villanova with 7:28 to play. Then the Wildcats went on a 16-9 run to end the half. Maalik Wayns scored all six of his first half points during  the run.

Villanova had a balanced scoring attack in the first half. Maalik Wayns, James Bell and Darrun Hilliard all had six points apiece. Dominic Cheek had five points for the Wildcats. Charles Hinkle led American with 13 first half points.
