The New York Red Bulls Travel Down I-95 To Take On The Philadelphia Union

After losing their first game of the season last week, to the Los Angeles Galaxy, the Philadelphia Union (2-0-1) face the New York Red Bulls (1-0-2) at PPL Park in Chester, PA. Last season the two rivals played in three games versus one another, all which resulted in 2-1 end results (two in favor of the Red Bulls - including one USOC match - and the third went to the Union).

Coming off of a season in which they were Eastern Conference champions, the Red Bulls decided to retool their team. Subtracting players like the aging Juan Pablo Angel, and adding faces like Thierry Henry and (recently) Dwayne De Rosario were supposed to improve the team and so far it has gone undefeated in MLS play. A win against the Seattle Sounders and draws to the Columbus Crew and Houston Dynamo have given the Red Bulls 5 points from their three games.

The Union have played in three 1-0 games and failed to get a shot-on-target versus the Galaxy. Wednesday brought an USOC play-in match defeat to rivals DC United, the Union's second straight overall defeat. Looking to rebound versus the Red Bulls, the Union need to create more offensive opportunities to make it a game.
