Roy Oswalt, who recently returned to the Phillies after spending some time with family in the wake of the tornados down south, could potentially be headed for a stint on the DL with lower back pain.
Oswalt will not make his scheduled start against the Braves tomorrow and Ruben Amaro admitted that he could “possibly go on the DL.”
“He felt a little discomfort in Arizona… and we feel like we could be putting him in danger if we throw him out there [Saturday],” Amaro added.
Kyle Kendrick will make the start instead with Vance Worley “on call” in the bullpen.
Worley would have been scheduled to pitch on Monday, but it now looks like Joe Blanton will come off the DL on that day make the start that night.
