After splitting their first two games of the new year, the St. Joe’s men’s basketball team got back on track Wednesday night with an 80-62 win over the Fordham Rams at Hagan Arena. The win gives the Hawks a 2-1 record in Atlantic 10 play and puts them at 12-5 for the season.

Sophomore guard Langston Galloway powered the Hawks to the win with 30 points on the night. He also had four rebounds and two assists. Even more impressive, Galloway hit seven of nine three-point shots.

Head coach Phil Martelli expressed concern after the Hawks lost their last game to Charlotte, pointing to the team’s troubles scoring. Prior to Wednesday’s game, the Hawks had scored more than 30 points in just one of their last five halves of play. On Wednesday, they scored 34 points in the first half and 46 in the second.

C.J. Aiken blocked six shots and scored 15 points for the Hawks. Ronald Roberts, Jr. had 12 rebounds off the bench in the win.

The Hawks continue A 10 play on Saturday with a trip to face the Massachusetts Minutemen.
