The Drexel Dragons end their three-game home stand Thursday, as they host the George Mason Patriots in a nationally-televised Colonial Athletic Association contest (8 p.m. on ESPNU) at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Dragons (10-5, 2-2 CAA) have won eight of their last nine games, while the Patriots have won their last five and are in first place in the CAA standings.
On Sunday, Drexel defeated VCU, 64-58, as sophomore Frantz Massenat netted a collegiate-best 24 points on 7-for-10 shooting. The sharp-shooting Massenant leads the Dragons in scoring (12.7 points per game), assists (3.7 per game) and is tops in the nation in 3-point shooting percentage (47.4).
Samme Givens, who leads the team in rebounding (7.1 per game), is just four boards away from setting the all-time mark at Drexel.
Meanwhile, George Mason is paced by Ryan Pearson, who nets 18.2 ppg and snags 8.3 rpg, and has helped the Patriots lead the CAA in points (70.4) and field goal percentage (47.0).
