A battle of Philadelphia will be waged Wednesday night when La Salle and Temple clash on the court.

This is one of those games that means more than a simple W or L in a column.

The Temple Owls will play host on Wednesday night to the La Salle Explorers at 7:00 p.m. in the Liacouras Center.

Temple (11-5, 1-2) is coming off of a road loss to Richmond last Saturday. The Owls are led by the dynamic duo of Ramone Moore and Khalif Wyatt who are each averaging 17 points per game.

Temple looked like it was on its way after a stunning and impressive victory at home over the Duke Blue Devils on Jan. 4th. However, the team has lost two of three since then and has looked lost at times. With that said, this game marks a stretch for the Owls where they play six of eight games at home.

La Salle is also looking to rebound from a road defeat after falling to Dayton over the weekend. The Explorers have been playing excellent other than that game however, ripping off 11 wins in their previous 12 games.

The squad is very balanced with four players in double digits on the year. Ramon Galloway, Earl Pettis, Tyreek Duren and Sam Mills have all shared the load offensively for La Salle.

This is obviously a very important game for both sides. Along with bragging rights of the city until their next meeting on Feb. 22, the Owls can pull into a conference tie with the Explorers with a victory. A loss would be devastating while a La Salle win would vault them into a first place tie in the Atlantic 10.
