The St. Joseph 's Hawks will play host to Dayton Flyers in an all-important Atlantic 10 showdown on Wednesday night.
St. Joe's (12-8, 2-3) desperately needs this game to get back in the conference race. The Hawks are currently mired in a three game losing streak including a loss on Saturday against Pennsylvania. With road games against Temple and Richmond coming up, this is a chance to jump start the season at home.
Dayton (14-5, 4-1) comes in to Philadelphia with a two game winning streak including an impressive win against Xavier over the weekend. The Flyers are pacing the Atlantic 10 but could see their position become a lot more tenuous with a loss tonight.
Dayton is a tough team to defend because its so balanced. Six players are averaging between 12.3 and 9.2 points per game. Senior forward Chris Johnson might be the most complete of the group, putting in 10 points and five grabbing five and a half rebounds per game. He also shoots 43 percent from downtown.
St. Joe's is a little more top-heavy with Carl Jones and Langston Galloway. The Hawks have solid players in C.J. Aiken and Ronald Roberts Jr. as well, but Jones and Galloway are the unquestioned offensive leaders.
All four men will have to play very well in order to take down a well-rounded Dayton squad.
