Penn St. vs Army: Black Knights visit Happy Valley

Brian Spurlock-US PRESSWIRE

D.J. Newbill and Penn State will host the Army Black Knights on Saturday at the Bryce Jordan Center.

At 4-4 on the young season, D.J. Newbill and the Penn State Nittany Lions will host the Army Black Knights in basketball on Saturday at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Nittany Lions are coming off a 82-57 loss against the La Salle Explorers. Penn State has yet to win back-to-back games this season, but also have yet to lose back-to-back games. Army enters Saturday with an impressive victory of their own.

Penn State will need to stop Ella Ellis of Army, who can explode for a big game in the points column on any given nights. The senior forward scored 23 points and collected eight rebounds in his most recent game, but nearly scored 40 points against Yale in late November.

Across from Ellis will be Penn State's top player, D.J. Newbill, who is doing it all this season as a sophomore. The guard is averaging 14.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game this year.
