La Salle Vs. Charlotte Final Score: Explorers Win Again, 85-72 Over The 49ers

The La Salle Explorers grabbed the top spot in the Atlantic 10 standings with an 85-72 win over the Charlotte 49ers on Wednesday night. It was the fourth straight win for the red hot Explorers

Sophomore guard Tyrek Duren led La Salle in scoring with 22 points. He was a perfect 8-8 at the line, and hit both his three-point attempts. The Explorers' leading scored, Ramone Galloway, spent the first five minutes of the second half watching from the bench after finding himself in foul trouble. He promptly added three assists upon his return to the game, helping La Salle put it out of reach for Charlotte. Galloway finished with nine points, six assists and five rebounds.

Duren and three others from the Explorers finished in double digits.

La Salle is now 6-2 in the Atlantic 10, leading Massachusetts by half a game. On Saturday, they travel to face St. Joe's before going back on the road to play Richmond next Wednesday night.

La Salle Vs Charlotte: Explorers Look For Fourth Straight Win

The La Salle Explorers look for their fourth straight win Wednesday night when they host the Charlotte 49ers in an Atlantic 10 Conference tilt at 7 p.m.

Bouncing back from two consecutive losses, La Salle knocked off Duquesne on Saturday for its third straight win and moved into a three-way tie atop the A-10 with a 5-2 record. The Explorers were led Saturday by Earl Pettis' 20 points and Ramon Galloway's double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Charlotte has lost three straight overall and five consecutive in the conference. The 49ers used a late run Saturday night to put Xavier on the ropes, but Tu Holloway sank two free throws with four seconds remaining to seal Xavier's 74-70 win. Chris Braswell leads the way with 14.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, and Javarris Barnett adds 12.3 points and 6.3 boards.
