La Salle Vs. St. Louis Final Score: Explorers Fall 59-51

The La Salle Explorers lost their third consecutive game on Saturday as they fell to inter-conference foe, the St. Louis Billikens by a final score of 59-51. The loss drops La Salle's record to 17-9 on the season and 6-5 in the Atlantic 10. They now trail Temple by two games in the standings, but they're also behind six other teams.

St. Louis didn't have any significant advantages in the victory as the teams were evenly matched across the board. Instead, the Billikens were just slightly better in most areas – they made two more field goals, one more three, three more free throws, grabbed four more offensive rebounds, four more assists, one more steal and three less turnovers.

The Billikens had four players score in double figures to the Explorers one, but La Salle forward, Jerrell Wright scored a game-high 18.

La Salle's next game is scheduled for February 18 when they travel to Massachusetts to face the Minutemen.

La Salle Vs St. Louis Preview

Two straight road losses have La Salle reeling, but the Explorers look to steady themselves back in the familiar confines of Tom Gola Arena against Saint Louis at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

La Salle is 12-0 at home this season, but dropped consecutive road outings in this past week by a combined six points to fall from first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference to fifth. The Explorers fell 70-66 at St. Joe's last Saturday, then followed with another disappointment, a 78-76 heart breaker at Richmond, after allowing a put-back layup with 5.8 seconds remaining.

Saint Louis is tied for second place in the Atlantic 10, one-half game behind league leader Temple. The Billikens started conference play by losing two of three, but have won six of their past seven and enter Saturday's matchup on a three-game winning streak. Brian Conklin paces Saint Louis with 14.8 points per game.
