St. Joe's moves to 6-5 in the A-10 with a 73-62 win over UMass.

St. Joe's fell to 5-5 in the Atlantic 10 on Wednesday after a disappointing home defeat to Saint Louis. The Hawks had won two straight, but shot just 25 percent from three-point range and committed 17 turnovers during the 72-60 loss. Langston Galloway (15 points), Ronald Roberts Jr. (14) and Carl Jones (13) all scored in double figures in the loss, and Halil Kanacevic grabbed 10 rebounds.
UMass has won two straight and four out of five, including a 76-67 victory against St. Bonaventure on Monday that kept the Minutemen perfect at home (12-0). At 7-3, UMass is one-half game behind Temple for the conference lead.
The two teams met previously on Jan. 14. St. Joe's sprinted to a 20-3 lead, but Chaz Williams spearheaded a UMass comeback and the Minutemen prevailed 71-62.

St. Joe's Vs. UMass: Hawks Earn A-10 Win, 73-62
Halil Kanacevic made only three field goal attempts, but was the most important player on the court in St. Joe's 73-62 win over A-10 conference rival UMass on Saturday night.
Kanacevic finished the night with six points to go along with 15 rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks. The sophomore helped St. Joe's finish with a decided 42-31 rebounding edge over the visiting Minutemen, and push their conference mark to 6-5 on the year.
Junior guard Carl Jones added 17 points for the Hawks, who shot just 43.9% from the field and hit only two thirds of their free throw attempts. Langtson Galloway added 15 points as well.
UMass was paced by Jesse Morgan, who nearly doubled his average scoring output with 18 on the night. The loss sends Umass to 7-4 in the A-10 and 18-7 overall on the season.
