Flyers Vs. Jets Final Score: Philadelphia Wins 5-4 In Overtime

The Philadelphia Flyers avoided what would have been their fourth loss to the Winnipeg Jets this season. Tuesday night's game was a tight battle, as it was in the previous three meetings. The Flyers outshot the Jets 55-26 on the night, but were down 4-3 going into the waning seconds of the third period. Wayne Simmonds tipped in the equalizer off of a shot by James Van Riemsdyk to send the game into overtime.

From there, the Flyers continued to pepper Ondrej Pavelec, outshooting the Jets 6-1 in the period. Philadelphia finally broke through with just 46 second remaining until the game would go on to a shootout. Veteran Jaromir Jagr found net on an 11-foot snap shot assisted by Daniel Briere, giving the Flyers consecutive wins for the first time since the All-Star break.

Poor penalty killing has hounded the Flyers since the break, and that trend continued on Tuesday. The Jets scored on all three of their powerplay chances on an off night for goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov. Andrew Ladd scored twice for Winnipeg, notching his 18th and 19th goals of the season.

Claude Giroux, Scott Hartnell and Maxime Talbot also scored on the night. Hartnell and Simmonds added assists to go along with their tallies.
