Spencer Hawes Injury Update: 76ers' Center To 'At Least Another Two Weeks'

Stay connected for news and updates

The Philadelphia 76ers wil begin their second half of the NBA season Tuesday a bit shorthanded for a few more weeks, as center Spencer Hawes is reportedly out for at least another two weeks.

Hawes, who has missed 20 games this season and 19 of the last 20 with a strained left Achilles’ tendon, will have the walking boot on his left foot but at the urging of his California specialist, Dr. Richard Ferkel, will not play for at least another two weeks from this Friday, according to the Sixers.

Hawses visited with the Ferkel over the All-Star break. In his place the Sixers will most likely continue to start rookie Lavoy Allen at Center.

The Sixers (20-14) ended the first half of their NBA season on a five-game losing streak, and will try to end it without Hawes when the visit the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday (7 p.m. on CSN).
