The St. Joe's Hawks look for their third straight victory on Wednesday night against Saint Louis at 8:30 p.m. at Hagan Arena.
St. Joe's snapped La Salle's four-game winning streak on Saturday, edging the Explorers 70-66 behind Halil Kanacevic's monster night of 18 points and 15 rebounds. The Hawks led 42-33 at halftime and maintained their lead for the remainder of the contest. Carl Jones added 13 points in the victory, which pulled St. Joe's within one and a half games of first-place Temple in the Atlantic 10 Conference standings.
Saint Louis is in a four-way tie for second place in the Atlantic 10 after winning five of its last six. The Billikens have won two in a row, outlasting Dayton 58-50 on Saturday behind 16 points from Brian Conklin, 12 points from Kwamain Mitchell and a near-double double from Dwayne Evans, who registered nine points and 10 rebounds.
