NIT 2012, Drexel Vs. UCF: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

Stay connected for news and updates

After narrowly missing out on the NCAA Tournament, the Drexel Dragons will play host to the Central Florida Knights on Wednesday evening.

The third-seeded Dragons were one of the biggest snubs according to many experts, but now have a chance to prove their worth in the NIT. Drexel (27-6, 16-2) won 19 consecutive games before losing to VCU in the Colonial Conference Tournament.

After winning the regular season conference title, the Dragons may be disappointed with their fate but need to refocus. Frantz Massenat and freshman guard Damion Lee will look to keep Drexel's offense on schedule, while Samme Givens attempts to clean the glass. Givens almost averages a double-double with 11.4 points and eight rebounds per game.

Sixth-seeded Central Florida (22-10, 10-6) doesn't arrive nearly as hot. The Knights have lost two of their previous four including an 83-52 shelling by Memphis in the Conference-USA Tourney. However, don't sleep on this group, who actually beat UConn early this season.

Keith Clanton will be the man to watch for UCF. He's averaging 14.6 points and eight rebounds per contest.
