McDonald's All-American Game: Shabazz Muhammad Named MVP As West Wins

The 35th annual McDonald's All-American Game tipped off Wednesday night and ended with a West victory.

McDonald's All-American Game Final Score: West Holds On For 106-102 Win

The 2012 McDonald's All-American Game was held in Chicago on Wednesday night. The top high school basketball players in the country participated in the annual All-Star game and strutted their stuff in front of a national audience. The East and West teams duked it out before the game ended with the West team picking up the 106-102 win.

The two teams matched one another blow for blow through much of the first half before the West team opened up a lead and entered halftime on top by a score of 58-46. They extended that lead out to over 20 points but the East surged back and only trailed 93-88 with less than 4:00 left in the game. The West managed to hold onto their lead the rest of the way and emerge victorious.

The bulk of the screen time during the broadcast was dedicated to the consensus top prospect in the country, Shabazz Muhammad. The Las Vegas native put up 15 points in the first half and was the constant topic of conversation among the commentators. Muhammad was named the MVP of the game

Also participating in the game was Amile Jefferson from Friends' Central in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. He provided a big unguarded dunk in the final few minutes of the game. Jefferson is currently undecided on a destination school.

McDonald's All-American Game Score Update: West Leads At Half, 58-46

The 2012 edition of the McDonald's All-American Game tipped off in Chicago on Wednesday night. The home court of the Chicago Bulls is playing host to the annual East vs. West All-Star game that gives the prospects a chance to spotlight their talents on a national stage. At halftime, the West team leads by a score of 58-46.

The players were slow to warm up but the two teams were able to more or less match one another shot for shot throughout the first half, before the West team was able to pull away and open up a double-digit lead.

The biggest star in the game is Shabazz Muhammad, who hails from Las Vegas and is the consensus top prospect in the country. Muhammad is playing for the West team and stated before the game that he has narrowed his decision for a destination shool down to three choices: Duke, UCLA and Kentucky.

Also participating in the game is Amile Jefferson from Friends' Central in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. Jefferson is currently undecided on a destination school.
