The La Salle Explorers look to enter the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament on a high note by ousting St. Bonaventure on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Tom Gola Arena.
La Salle moved to 8-7 in the league by edging George Washington 60-56 on Wednesday. The Explorers saw a 10-point second half lead cut to one with 21 seconds left against George Washington, but hit enough free throws down the stretch to avoid throwing the game away.
The victory Wednesday was La Salle's 19th of the season, marking the most victories the program has had in a single season since posting 20 in 1991-92.
St. Bonaventure is rolling with four straight wins, including a 98-93 double overtime affair against St. Joe's on Wednesday. Andrew Nicholson continued to make his case for Atlantic 10 Player of the Year against St. Joe's, pouring in 32 points and snatching 14 rebounds.
