2012 Preakness Field: A Look At Went The Day Well

In the 137th running of The Preakness Stakes on Saturday at Pimilco Race Track in Baltimore, MD, Went the Day Well will be looking to win the second leg of the Triple Crown.

After starting off 17th in the Kentucky Derby, Went the Day Well rallied to finish just 2 1/2 lengths behind the eventual winner, I'll Have Another, to finish fourth overall.

Went the Day Well sports a 4-2-0-0 record and is coming into Saturday with some confidence after such a nice showing in the Run for the Roses.

He's New York bred and the son of Proud Citizen. He had been racing over in England for a decent period of time before his owner Barry Irwin, who bought a majority interest in him last year, brought him to the United States, according to Preakness.com.

He's been trained by Graham Morton ever since and could be a nice sleeper pick on Saturday.
