Landon Donovan's hat trick led the US Men's National Soccer team to 5-1 drubbing of Scotland Saturday night at EverBank field in Jacksonville. Donovan's hat trick was his second for the Nats in the state of Florida, his last coming against Ecuador in 2007. The three goals put Donovan just one shy of 50 for his career at the international level

Donovan opened the scoring and rightly earned man of match honors, but the highlight of the night undoubtedly belongs to Michael Bradley, whose right footed half volley with an almost impossible slice on it doubled the Americans lead and sent the record crowd into a frenzy.

It was a thing of beauty and Bradley's 10th international goal. Donovan would score the next two goals and Jermaine Jones would add one more to complete the rout of the Scots.

The win gets the US summer off to a roaring start. Jurgen Klinsmann's club will play 5 games in 18 days in what is meant to be a mock tournament style schedule as the team prepares for World Cup 2014 qualifying. They will next face the host nation of that World Cup as the legendary Brazil comes to Maryland for a friendly on Wednesday night. The USMNT then faces Canada the following Sunday.
