With two of their biggest sluggers on the disable list and with a bit of work to do to climb the NL East Division standings, the Philadelphia Phillies seem to be looking for a way to improve their offense. Could the answer come from trading for Boston Red Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis -- who's rumored to be on the trading block despite denials from front office brass.
On Sunday, the Phils' scouting department was seen in Toronto, the site of the series finale between the Red Sox and Blue Jays, to look at the third basemen, who has had a rough season so far with Boston.
Currently, Youkilis is hitting a career-low .253 at the plate with just four home runs, and has had a few run-ins with Boston manager Bobby Valentine this season. There's a feeling that Youkilis, who has spent his first nine seasons with the Red Sox, is ready to find another team to play for.
The question is, is Philadelphia the right spot?
