The 2012 MLB All-Star Game rosters were announced Sunday, and three Philadelphia Phillies player will represent the franchise in the exhibition game, July 10, in Kansas City. Starting pitcher Cole Hamels, closer Jonathan Papelbon and catcher Carlos Ruiz were all named to the National League squad as reserves. Not one Philly player earned enough fan votes to collect a start.

For Hamels, this will be the second straight year, third overall, he's been named to the All-Star team. Last season, Hamels did not pitch in the contest.

Meanwhile, the Phils' new closer, Papelbon, will appear in his fifth All-Star Game and his first since '09. Ruiz will be playing in his first All-Star Game after NL manager Tony LaRussa named him to the team.
