The Philadelphia Eagles have made their last two roster cuts to get to the NFL mandated 53-man limit before Friday's 9 p.m. deadline. The Eagles cut punter Mat McBriar and defensive tackle Antonio Dixon to get to 53 players on their active roster.
McBriar is a two-time Pro Bowl punter who signed with the Eagles on July 25 and was the starter over Chas Henry during the preseason. McBriar started his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys and was a member of that team from 2004-2011.
Dixon had spent the past three seasons with the Eagles, playing in 35 games with 10 starts. Dixon had 39 solo tackles and 3.0 sacks in those games. Dixon joined the team in 2009 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Miami.
