2012 Summer Olympics Preview: TV Schedule, Medal Events, Online Streaming Information And More

Saturday will see 25 gold medals awarded at the 2012 London Olympics, and Pennsylvania is well represented among the Team USA athletes who will be pursuing those gold medals. Medal events, online streaming, and TV schedule information is below.

Several Pennsylvania natives are competing in medal events on Saturday. Treavor Barron of Bethel Park will compete in the men's 20k race walk, Glenn Ochal of Philadelphia will be part of the men's four rowing team, Jamie Beyerle Gray has some of Team USA's best chances for gold in the women's 50m three position event, Hyleas Fountain from Harrisburg is competing in the women's heptathalon and Lauren Tamayo of Barto is a member of the women's pursuit team in track cycling. The Philadelphia 76ers' Andre Iguodala is the local representative in the US men's basketball team. He and his teammates will take on Lithuania in a match where they're favored by 34.5 points.

Serena Williams is another member of Team USA with a good chance at a gold medal. She's taking on Maria Sharapova in the women's tennis finals. Carmelita Jeter is a sprinter in pursuit of gold, she'll be competing in the women's 100m, and Jessica Hardy hopes to continue USA swimming's good forture in the women's 50m freestyle event.

  • Track & Field (men's 20km walk, women's discus, men's long jump, women's 100m, women's triple jump and women's heptathalon)
  • Rowing (women's single sculls, men's light double sculls, women's light double sculls, and men's four)
  • Swimming (women's 50m freestyle and 4x100m medley, men's 1500m free and 4x100m medley)
  • Shooting (women's 50m rifle 3 position and women's trap)
  • Tennis (women's singles and men's doubles)
  • Badminton (women's singles and doubles)
  • Cycling (women's team pursuit)
  • Fencing (women's team epee)
  • Trampoline (women's)
  • Triathalon (women's)

Television coverage of the 2012 London Games is provided by NBC. Coverage on the flagship network begins with women's tennis at 9 a.m. Things get started earlier in their other networks, starting with boxing on CNBC at 3 a.m. A complete TV schedule is available here.
