NHL Lockout 2012: Ilya Bryzgalov Reportedly Negotiating KHL Contract

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov will be flying to Russia on Wednesday to negotiate a contract with CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League, according to Courier-Post beat writer Randy J. Miller.

Bryzgalov was at an informal workout with a group of Flyers players at the club's practice facility in Voorhees, N.J., when the goaltender left the ice early so he could begin packing for his trip. Bryzgalov stated that he will be traveling on his own and will wait for the contract to be finalized before moving his family.

In mid-July, the 32-year-old goaltender said that if the NHL players association was locked out by the owners on Sept. 15, he would play in the KHL during the lockout. At the start of September, he was less than sure about what course of action he was going to take, citing his family's wishes as a deciding factor.
