Philadelphia Eagles star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha headed to the locker room with an apparent right eye injury during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Giants

Philadelphia Eagles starting cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha suffered an injury in the second quarter during Sunday's game against the New York Giants. The star defensive back appeared to have his right eye poked and was later seen being evaluated on the sideline by team trainers.

After being evaluated on the sidelines for a couple of series, Asomugha headed to the locker room with roughly six minutes remaining in the second quarter to have his right eye further evaluated by team trainers.

Fortunately for the Eagles, the injury does not appear to be too serious. NBC's sideline reporter Michelle Tafoya had reported Asomugha has been taken to the hospital for further evaluation, however, Asomugha was seen on the sideline soon after.

In his place, the Eagles summoned cornerback Brandon Hughes to take Asomugha's place as one of the team's defensive backs. For the Eagles, the injury to Asomugha will certainly be a huge loss, given the match up against the Giants pass-happy offense and the talent he posses.
