BMW Championship 2012: Vijay Singh Leads After 36 Holes

Vijay Singh is the leader at the 2012 BMW Championship after Day 2 in Carmel, Ind. Singh is one stroke ahead of Ryan Moore, Tiger Woods, and Rory McIlroy after a second-round 66 brought him to 13-under for the tournament.

Moore and Singh are both in need of good results this weekend, as they began the tournament outside of the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings. A top-30 finish is needed to advance to the Tour Championship. Singh is projected to shoot all the way up to fourth if he were to hold on for the win. Moore is now projected to finish in 11th after a 66 on Friday.

Woods and McIlroy both sit at 12-under for the weekend, but their second days were markedly different. Woods was steady, posting five birdies and no bogeys. McIlroy was all over the map, tallying six birdies, an eagle, and four bogeys to finish with a 68.

West Chester native Jim Furyk is at 5-under for the weekend after a 70 on Friday. Furyk came into the tournament in position to qualify for the Tour Championship, and he is currently projected at 25th in the standings.
