Philly.com Sports: Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy stated that he doesn't believe players tried their hardest this season.

In the locker room after that, as players packed belongings into boxes, many expressed displeasure with the way the team greased the skids for Reid's departure, going 4-12 in a year when everyone knew the Birds needed to contend to save Reid's job.

"No, I don't think so," running back LeSean McCoy said, when asked if he thought players all laid it on the line for Reid. "That's obvious, man .. you've seen the games."

A recap of the Philadelphia Eagles' regular season finale against the New York Giants by pulling reaction from SB Nation blogs. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

The New York Giants dominated the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17 by a final score of 42-7.

For Philadelphia, the game was largely considered the final game in the Andy Reid era, as speculation had run rampant for the majority of the year that the Eagles' head coach would be relieved of his duties if the team did not contend for a championship.

With the Eagles entering Week 17 with a 3-11 record, the writing was clearly on the wall at Bleeding Green Nation

But tomorrow everything changes. Andy Reid will be let go and the search for the next guy to lead the franchise will begin. Not too long after we'll start seeing some significant roster purges. Michael Vick, Nnamdi Asomugha & Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie will likely headline that list.

For the Giants, the game had potential playoff implications, as a win could keep them in the hunt for the final Wild Card spot in the NFC. In order for such a scenario to occur, the team needed several opponents to lose their final games, which ultimately did not happen.

However, the team closed out the season in impressive fashion, which was exemplified by the 'Kudos & Wet Willies' review at Big Blue View.
