From CSN Philly: Brad Lidge is hanging up the cleats after an 11-year career in which he helped the Philadelphia Phillies win the World Series.
Former Phillies reliever Brad Lidge has retired, his agent, Rex Gary, told CSNPhilly.com.
Lidge spent 11 seasons in the majors and is best known for helping lead the Phillies to their 2008 World Series title in his first year with the club. He recorded 48 saves in 48 opportunities that season and the final out the series-deciding Game 5.
