Penn State Vs Ohio State: Nittany Lions Defeat Buckeyes 20-14

The Penn State Nittany Lions were on the road today for the first time since the Jerry Sundusky scandal when they traveled to Coumbus to face off against Big 10 rival, the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Nittany Lions entered the game as seven-point underdogs, but pulled out a six-point win, defeating the Buckeyes 20-14. With the victory Penn State improves to 9-2 on the season and 6-1 in the Big 10, setting the table for a huge showdown with Wisconsin next week, in the final game of the season.

Penn State jumped out to an early 10 point lead, which Ohio State eventually cut to three late in the second half. Penn State tacked on a field goal as time expired in the second quarter to expand the lead to five going into the locker room. As it turns out that would be the game's final score, 20-14, as there was zero scoring in the second half.

The teams played a relatively equal game across the board. The biggest discrepancy was Ohio State's two turnovers to Penn State's one.

Quarterback Matthew McGloin completed 10 of 18 passes for 88 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. Running back carried the ball 16 times for 93 yards and two scores.

As mentioned earlier, the 9-2 Nittany Lions will play the 9-2 Wisconsin Badgers next week, in a Big 10 showdown.
