Penn State Coaching Search: Dan Mullen To Interview Monday, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

Mississippi State head football coach Dan Mullen will reportedly interview for the Penn State job on Monday, Dec. 5 (via Ryan Synder's Twitter feed). Mullen recently emerged as a leading candidate to replace longtime coach Joe Paterno.

On Nov. 30, Mullen had denied a report that he was close on a deal to become the new head coach at Penn State, calling it

the most irresponsible reporting that I've ever heard of (via SB Nation)

Mullen went so far as to say that he had not been contacted by Penn State. He also called the report a rumor drummed up by rivals to hurt the Bulldogs' recruiting efforts.

In three seasons, Mullen is 20-17 as the head coach of Mississippi State.
