Penn State Recruiting: Nittany Lions A Finalist For Demetrious Cox

Penn State are finalists for the commitment of four star rated athlete Demetrious Cox according to a report from ESPN's Jared Shanker. Cox, who hails from from Jeannette, Pennsylvania, is also considering offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Cox has yet to make an official visit, but did make an unofficial stop at Penn State during the season. Tom Bradley has been recruiting him personally.

Cox is 6-0, 192 pounds with plus speed and versatility. He'll likely play WR or DB in college, but has been playing the QB position in high school. Here's what the ESPN scouting service had to say about him

Cox is a really explosive athlete with terrific play speed, sudden change-of-direction and the ability to be a homerun threat in space. He is essentially a wide receiver playing quarterback for this team due to his open field run skills and the difficult match-up he presents. He sees limited snaps out wide, but enough so that we feel the transition will not be a difficult one. Makes all his plays with his feet as a designated runner. He is wiry, but with an athletic build and good height.

Cox is a BCS level prospect with the movement skills and speed to be a significant pass catching threat for the next level. Being the athlete that he is with his set of measurables he might be a candidate as a corner. Good player.
