After experiencing a rash of decommits in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal and Bill O'Brien taking over as head coach, the Penn State Nittany Lions appear to have finally scored a coup of their own. Defensive back Jordan Lucas of Worcester Academy in New Rochelle, NY, switched his pledge from the Temple Owls to the Nittany Lions on Monday, giving Penn State 15 commitments so far for the high school class of 2012.

The 6-1, 195-pound Lucas reportedly received and accepted the new scholarship offer on the same day. It's not too surprising, considering he lists Temple, Old Dominion, Massachusetts and Akron as his only other offers. Penn State obviously offers a much bigger stage, even if embroiled in turmoil.

The decommitment still leaves Temple with four defensive back in its current class, not to mention several athletes that may be able to play in the secondary. Lucas was arguably the highest profile of them all, however.
