29 points from Tyreek Duren powered the La Salle Explorers to an 82-57 blowout win over the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Tyreek Duren exploded for 29 points Wednesday night as the La Salle Explorers toppled the Penn State Nittany Lions, 82-57, at the Palestra.

La Salle outscored Penn State by 21 in the second half, turning what was a close game into a laugher in Philadelphia.

Duren hit four of his seven three-point attempts and, as a team, the Explorers shot 52 percent from beyond the arc, at 16-31. Ramon Galloway and Sam Mills each had 14 points to help Duren in the scoring attack.

Jermaine Marshall had 19 points for the Nittany Lions, but it was not enough. La Salle went on a 23-5 run in the second half to blow the game open, and they never looked back.

The Explorers took care of the ball and didn't give away possessions, piling up 16 assists to only four turnovers.

La Salle's win was the second this season against a power-conference school. The Explorers beat Villanova on Nov. 25, 77-74. Next, La Salle will visit Northeastern on Saturday night.
