Penn State Vs. Iowa Final Score: Nittany Lions Fall To Hawkeyes 77-64

The Penn State Nittany Lions basketball team lost their fourth consecutive game today as they fell to the Iowa Hawkeyes by a final score of 77-64. Penn State shot 40 percent from the field, 35 percent from three and 57 percent from the free throw line in today's loss to the Hawkeyes. They were out-rebounded 37 to 29, out-assisted 16 to 12 and shot 27 less free throws than Iowa. The Hawkeyes fouls the Nittany Lions 12 times today, while Penn State hacked Iowa 26 times, leading to the huge free throw discrepancy.

Penn State Basketball Vs Iowa: Nittany Lions Face Hawkeyes In Big 10 Tilt

The Penn State Nittany Lions look to snap a three-game losing skid on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. when they visit the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Penn State has lost three straight and six out of seven, limping to a 2-8 Big Ten Conference record. The Nittany Lions started a stretch of meeting four consecutive ranked opponents by outlasting Illinois on Jan. 19, but followed that with losses to Indiana, Ohio St. and Wisconsin. The latter loss came Tuesday night at home, when Tim Frazier's 21 points and seven assists were not enough to overcome Wisconsin's suffocating defense.

Iowa has experienced its own struggles, dropping five of their last seven. The Hawkeyes beat Minnesota 63-59 in their most recent outing on Wednesday night. Iowa faced a 10-point second-half deficit, but prevailed thanks to 18 points from Matt Gatens and a defense that held Minnesota to 39.2 percent shooting.
