The Penn State Nittany Lions' first spring game since Joe Paterno's departure kicks off Saturday at 2 p.m. Bill O'Brien has changed the scoring system from traditional football scoring.

New Penn State football coach Bill O'Brien has wasted little time changing tradition in the Nittany Lions program, changing how score will be kept in Saturday's Blue-White Game.

The intrasquad exhibition has used traditional scoring in the past under Joe Paterno, but O'Brien instituted his own scoring system. It rewards the offense for accomplishments such as two consecutive first downs, and the defense for sacking the quarterback or forcing turnovers.

One position battle to watch during the game will be in the defensive secondary. The Nittany Lions lost all four starters off last year's team and have hosted auditions all spring. The No. 1 quarterback spot is also up for grabs, with senior Matt McGloin, junior Rob Bolden and sophomore Paul Jones expected to be the candidates.
