The NBA Board of Governors has reportedly approved the sale of the Sixers, and an announcement should come Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

As an update to our earlier report, it appears that the NBA Board of Governors has approved the sale of the Sixers.  The approval should be announced either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, a source close to the situation has told SBN Philly.

The Joshua Harris-led group will be the 5th group of owners the Sixers have had since arriving in Philadelphia in 1963, when Ike Richman and Irv Kosloff bought the team from Danny Biasone and moved them from Syracuse to Philadelphia.  Since then the team has been bought by Fitz Dixon (1976), Harold Katz (1981), and Comcast-Spectacor (1996).

Danny Biasone founded the Nationals in 1946, joining the NBA in 1949.
