Sixers Vs. Wizards: Spencer Hawes, Nikola Vucevic Out

Stay connected for news and updates

The Philadelphia 76ers frontcourt could be decimated due to injury and illness during a Monday night bout with the Washington Wizards.

The Philadelphia 76ers could look like midgets (relatively speaking) against the Washington Wizards on Monday night. Two of Philadelphia's centers will miss the game due to injury and power forward Elton Brand could be forced to sit with gastroenteritis, reports CSN Philly.

Spencer Hawes, Philadelphia's normal starting center, will miss his fourth straight game against the Wizards with a strained left Achilles. Nikola Vucevic, who had been starting during Hawes' absence, left the Miami Heat game with a quad and knee injury after scoring 13 points and adding nine rebounds in three quarters. And Brand, who has started each of the 76ers' 16 games at power forward, is a game time decision with a stomach flu.

If all three players miss Monday's game, the 76ers will have just four players taller than 6-7: Thaddeus Young, Lavoy Allen, Tony Battie and Craig Brackins.
