The Philadelphia 76ers wrapped up a five game road trip that started their regular season on a high note. They beat the New Orleans Hornets by a final score of 101-93 on Wednesday night, moving their record to 3-2 on the young season.
Point guard Jrue Holiday led the 76ers with 23 points, two rebounds, eight assists and one steal. Holiday made half of his eight three-point attempts. Evan Turner has 21 points, six rebounds and four assists off the bench. Elton Brand had 12 points and 12 points.
Philadelphia is second in the league in scoring, averaging 103 points per game so far this season. Prior to this game, the 76ers had been shooting a healthy 43.5 percent on three-point shots, but the team made just 25 percent of their attempts on Wednesday night.
Eric Gordon was back in action for the Hornets after missing four games with a knee injury. He led his team with 22 points.
The 76ers open their season at home on Friday night with a game against the Detroit Pistons.
