The Sixers (4-2) won their first home game of the season on Friday, defeating the Detroit Pistons 96-73 for their third straight victory. Philadelphia led by just six points with 10 minutes remaining, but went on a 28-11 run the remainder of the game. Jodie Meeks scored 17 of his 21 points during the critical final frame, and Spencer Hawes added 16 points and 14 rebounds to pace the Sixers.

Toronto lost 97-85 against New Jersey on Friday to fall to 3-4. The defeat was their opening game in a stretch that sees them play seven times in nine days.
