76ers Vs. Celtics, 2012 NBA Playoffs: Boston Celtics Played Like 'The Avengers' In Game 3, Writes CSN Philly Columnist

Stay connected for news and updates

For two games of their second-round 2012 NBA Playoffs series against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics had trouble getting their stars to thrive at the same time.

But in a 107-91 Game 3 blowout, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo all functioned properly at the same time. The result, writes Ron Burke on CSNPhilly.com, was like something out of "The Avengers." Burke saw the movie on Tuesday and was reminded of it during Wednesday's Game 3.

The next night, I strangely felt like I was back inside the movie theater, because the guys that turned green between Games 2 and 3 were uncontrollable monsters. The Celtics' trio of Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce played smash-mouth basketball, and the Sixers had little defense against them. Boston employed a scorched earth policy that resulted in 52-percent shooting from the field against a Sixers team that always seems to be able to count on its defense.
