NBA Playoffs 2012, Celtics Vs. 76ers: Despite Run, Philadelphia Still Needs To Improve

Despite falling just a win shy of the Eastern Conference Finals, those on the Philadelphia 76ers and in their front office realize that there is still a lot of work to be done if the team wants to take the next step. Sixers owner Josh Harris desperately wants to see his team back in the NBA Finals, according to CSNPhilly.com.

"Whatever it takes’ are pretty strong words," he said, "but I think we’re prepared to do what we have to do as an ownership group, financially or otherwise, to improve the team. We want to win. I think we laid out when we started that we couldn’t give you a time frame. We don’t want to underestimate the difficulties, but our goal is to bring a championship back to Philly. It’s been a while since (‘83), but that’s what we want to do."

One player who might have had his mind changed about his future with Philadelphia is Lou Williams. The Sixers sixth man has the ability to opt out of his contract this year and implied earlier this season that he would, but he know seems to be singing a different tune.

"At this point I just think it would be crazy for me to leave," he said. "This is somewhere where I’ve carved out a lane. This is where my family is. This is my second home, outside of Atlanta. But this is business, and once it comes time to deal with that, then we’ll get to the table."

Williams and Philadelphia could agree to an extension.
