Xavier Silas Injury Update: Surgery Successful For Silas

Stay connected for news and updates

Xavier Silas' facial surgery was a successful one, according to Philly.com.

The Philadelphia 76ers guard was injured in a Summer League game against the Detroit Pistons. The youngster went up to reject Casper Ware's shot before getting struck in the face by teammate Solomon Jones. Among the injuries, Silas suffered a concussion and multiple sinus fractures.

However, Silas doesn't appear to be down at all after enduring a two-hour surgery. He tweeted the following the teammate Evan Turner:

"Feel better. Meds just having me sleeping a lot. Tell them I'm feeling stronger already. Tell em the young snake said that."

Last season, Silas spent a majority of his time in the NBA Developmental League before playing in four games with the Sixers, including their final two playoff contests.

"Pulling my face off for 2 hours won't stop me," Silas tweeted. "I'm building the bridge between my dreams and reality and I'm naming it resilience."
